A 49-member Bangladesh Business Delegation comprising reprehensive from different trade bodies including BMCCI, DCCI, BIAA, WEA, etc. led by Syed Moazzam Hossain, Hony. Secretary General, BMCCI participated in the INTRADE Malaysia 2007 organised by Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in Kuala Lumpur on 11-15 November, 2007. Besides participating in the One-to-One business match making sessions, the delegation held meetings with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Malay Chamber of Commerce. The representatives of the Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry met the leader of the Bangladesh delegation separately and assured to organize a business delegation from their Chamber to visit Bangladesh in March, 2008 during the continuation of Show Case Malaysia 2008.
An investment promotion delegation from the ACCCIM will also visit Bangladesh to study the investment situation and also to identify areas of possible joint venture projects particularly infra-structure development projects in Bangladesh on BOO and BOT basis. Seven Bangladeshi exporting companies organized by BMCCI, participated in the INTRADE Exhibition with their exportable products. BMCCI was given two complimentary booths in the Bangladesh pavilion in the exhibition wherein publicity & export and investment promotional publications including Show Case Malaysia 2008 brochures were put in the booth. About 30 business enquiries were registered in the BMCCI booth and 15 Malaysian Companies confirmed their participation in the Show Case Malaysia 2008.
BMCCI provided all logistics to the Delegation including obtaining visa, booking air tickets, reserving hotel, arranging transports in Kuala Lumpur, delegates / exhibitors ID cards, etc. We also prepared a delegation brochure showing respective line of businesses as well as business interest of the members of the delegation which was distributed among the participants to the INTRADE business matching sessions.
MASSA, MIDA, MATRADE appreciated initiatives taken by BMCCI for the development of bilateral business relation between Bangladesh & Malaysia and assured their cooperation in our promotional activities. Malaysian businessmen visited the Bangladesh pavilion appreciated Bangladesh's participation in the INTRADE fair with our exportable products. With our participation in the INTRADE we have been able to build up our image in the Malaysian business community.
