Although the volume of exports is small, the items spread of Bangladeshi exports to Malaysia is quite diverse. These include commodities such as Camera Parts, Jute Manufacture’s, Knitwear, Home Textile, Crabs, Woven Garments, Frozen Fish, Shrimps, PVC Bags, other Manufactured goods, Bicycle, Shop towels, Pharmaceuticals, Textile Fabrics, Terry Towels, Jute Yarn and Twine, Leather, Cigarettes, Dry Food, Vegetables, Potato, Handicrafts, Printed Materials, Ceramic Tableware, Cap, Rice, Indicator lamps, Raw jute, Leather Bags and Purses, Electric Wires, Melamine Tableware, other Primary commodities, Salted and Dehydrated Fish, Shark Fins and Fish Maws, Furnace Oil, Cosmetics, Jute Carpet, Luggage and Fashion Goods, Tobacco, Footwear, etc.
Evidently Bangladesh has been suffering a chronic trade deficit with Malaysia which is growing every year. We need to take steps to reduce this trade gap by encouraging more Bangladesh exports to Malaysia.
